ICC Announce Prize Money for Women T20 World Cup 2024

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 03 October 2024 to 20 October 2024. 10 teams from all around the world will participate in the upcoming edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. On Tuesday 17^th September 2024, ICC announce Prize Money for Women T20 World Cup 2024.

The total Prize Money for the event is set to 79,58,080 US dollars with a 225% increase from the last edition of Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. There is also an increase in prize money for winner, runner-up, semi-finalists and group stage match win. Let’s have a look at the details of all the prize money of Women’s T20 WC 2024.

Winner’s Prize Money: 23,40,000 US Dollar
Runner-Up Prize Money: 11,70,000 US Dollar
Semi-Finalists Prize Money: 6,75,000 US Dollar
Prize Money for Group Stage Match Win: 31,154 US Dollar

Total Increase in Prize Money

A total of 225% increase in the overall prize money for the upcoming event of ICC Women’s T20 WC 2024 as compared with 2023 Women’s T20 WC.
The winner’s prize money gets an increase of 134% as compared with the winner’s prize money of Women’s T20 WC 2023.
The prize money of the runner-up of the tournament increased by 134% compared with the previous edition of the Women’s event.
Semi-finalists of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup will get the prize money with 221% increase from the 2023 Women’s T20 WC.
Prize money for the match win of the group stage of the upcoming event of Women’s T20 WC will be given to the team with an increase of 78% comparing with last edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Furthermore, a base prize of 1,12,500 US dollars will also be given to each of the 10 participating teams of the World Cup which means teams who eliminate during the group stage of the tournament will not leave the tournament with empty hands. This makes sure that each participating team of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will receive significant support for their participation irrespective of where they finished in the tournament.

Moreover, teams finishing 5^th to 8^th number in the event will receive 2,70,000 US dollars each and 1,35,000 US dollars will be given to the teams who will finish at 9^th and 10^th number. These changes in the prize money for the upcoming Women’s T20 WC emphasize the commitment of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for growing and recognizing women’s cricket, making sure that all participating teams and players are well supported financially.

This event is shifted to the United Arab Emirates from Bangladesh due to the unrest situation in Bangladesh. ICC deeply saw the situation in Bangladesh and said that the ultimate priority is the safety of the players. In the view of player safety & security, this event has been shifted to UAE. All matches of this ICC women’s event will be played in UAE, and the schedule was already been announced.

Bangladesh Women will take on against Scotland Women and in 2nd match Pakistan Women will take on Sri Lanka Women.
