The ninth edition of ICC Women T20 World Cup is under way in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Standings of the teams are almost finalized on the points table of the event as 18 matches of the group stage has been completed. 10 teams were fighting for the final four spots but only one team has officially qualified till now. Whereas, three teams have been eliminated from the tournament. Now, only two matches to go that will finalize the rest of the three teams who will qualify for the Semi-Finals of the event. Sri Lanka from Group-A, Scotland and host Bangladesh from Group-B are the teams who eliminated from the Women T20 WC 2024. Whereas, Australia from Group-A is the only till who officially qualified for the Semi-Finals.

Contest for the second semi-finalist from Group-A is on between India, New Zealand and Pakistan. On the other hand, England, South Africa and West Indies from Group-B are in line to book their berth in final four. Qualification Scenarios in Group-A

India, New Zealand and Pakistan are still in the race from Group-A to reach the Semi-Finals of the Women’s T20 WC-2024. Their qualification scenarios are here below:

India’s Qualification Scenario for Semi-Final

India is standing second in the points table of the 2024 Women T20 WC with 04 points. India has played all 04 of their group matches, they manage to win 02 matches and lost 02 matches and their NRR is 0.322. India is now eyeing on last Group-A match between Pakistan and New Zealand. India is relying on Pakistan to reach the semi-finals of Women’s T20 WC-2024.

  • If Pakistan beat New Zealand with a margin which keep Pakistan behind India in NRR, then India will qualify for the Semi-Final of the tournament.
  • If New Zealand beat Pakistan by any margin or in case of a washout, then India will be eliminated from the race of final four and New Zealand will through to the semi finals.

New Zealand’s Qualification Scenario for Semi-Final

New Zealand is standing third in Group-A on the Women T20 World Cup 2024 points table at the moment with 04 points and 0.282 NRR. New Zealand manages to win two matches out of three they played so far with one match to go against Pakistan on Monday 14th October 2024.

  • If New Zealand beat Pakistan by any margin or in case of a washout, then they will qualify for the semi-finals on the basis of their greater points.
  • If New Zealand lost against Pakistan by any margin, then New Zealand will be eliminated from the tournament.

Pakistan’s Qualification Scenario for Semi-Final

Pakistan is standing at fourth place in Group-A on the points table of Women T20 WC 2024 with 02 points and with a negative NRR of -0.488. Pakistan able to win only one match out of three they played so far with one match to go against New Zealand on Monday October 14, 2024.

  • If Pakistan beat New Zealand with a heavy margin which take their Net Run Rate ahead of India, then they will qualify for the semi-finals on the basis of their greater Net Run Rate.
  • If Pakistan lost to New Zealand, in case of a washout or Pakistan beat New Zealand with a margin which keep their NRR below to India then Pakistan will be eliminated from the tournament.

England is standing at top in Group-B on the Women T20 World Cup 2024 points table at the moment with 06 points and with NRR of 1.716. England manages to win all of their three matches they played so far with one match to go against West Indies on Tuesday 15th October 2024.

  • If England beat West Indies by any margin or in case of a washout, then they will top the Group-B and qualify for the semi-finals.
  • If England lost to West Indies by a margin which keep their Net Run Rate above the Net Run Rate of South Africa, then England will also qualify for the Semi-Finals.
  • But if England lost to West Indies by a margin which take their Net Run Rate below to the Net Run Rate of South Africa, then England will be eliminated.

South Africa’s Qualification Scenario for Semi-Final

South Africa has played all of their group matches and they are standing at second spot in Group-B on the points table of Women T20 World Cup 2024 at the moment with 06 points and with NRR of 1.382. South Africa manages to win three out of four matches they played and lost one match. South Africa is relying on the last match of Group-B between England and West Indies to qualify for the Semi-Final of Women T20 WC.

  • If England beat West Indies by any margin, then South Africa will qualify for the semi-finals.
  • If West Indies beat England by a margin which keep England’s Net Run Rate below the Net Run Rate of South Africa, then South Africa will also qualify for the Semi-Finals.

West Indies’ Qualification Scenario for Semi-Final

West Indies is standing at third spot in points table of Group-B of the Women T20 World Cup 2024 at the moment with 04 points and with NRR of 1.708. West Indies manages to win two out of three matches they played so far and lost one match with one match to go against England on Tuesday October 15, 2024.

  • Qualification scenario for West Indies is simple. West Indies needs to beat England by any margin to qualify for the semi-finals on the basis of batter Net Run Rate over South Africa.
  • If West Indies lost to England by any margin or in case of washout, then West Indies will be eliminated, England and South Africa will through to the Semi-Finals from Group-B on the basis of their greater points over West Indies.
