The ICC Women T20 World Cup 2024 will be the 9th edition of the Women T20 World Cup, a cyclic T20 International (T20I) event which is organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) contested among the women’s national cricket teams of different countries from all over the world. The ICC Women’s T20i World Cup 2024 was originally scheduled in Bangladesh. Still, later it was shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the same dates after the ongoing political unrest situation in Bangladesh. Bangladesh will still hold the hosting rights of the WT20WC.
9th edition of the Women T20 World Cup will be played from 03rd October 2024 to 20th October 2024 in UAE. A total of 23 matches will be played in the ICC Women’s T20 WC-2024 including the Semi-Finals and Final of the tournament an 18-day-long event. 10 Women International Cricket Teams qualified to take part in the Women T20WC-2024 including the hosts Bangladesh, Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, West Indies, Scotland and India. The dominant Australia Women team is the defending champions in this 2024 Women T20 WC who defeated South Africa in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa.
How Teams Qualified for ICC Women T20 World Cup 2024
The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirms the qualification process for the Women T20WC-2024 in the month of April 2022. Top 6 teams from the previous edition of the Women T20 World Cup 2023 were qualified directly along with the hosts Bangladesh. Two other teams were qualified automatically on the basis of their best ranking as of February 27, 2023. Whereas, Sri Lanka and Scotland qualified for the WT20WC-2024 through ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier tournament. Nine out of ten teams of 2023 Women T20 WC are participating in the 2024 Women T20 world cup, there is only one change in the teams with Scotland comes in for Ireland.

Format of the ICC Women T20 World Cup 2024
The 10 participating teams are divided into two groups of five teams each for the group stage. The top 02 teams from each group will qualify for the Semi-Finals, whereas the winners of the Semi-Finals will through to the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

All the 10 teams are divided in 02 Groups of 05 Teams each in the only group stage of the event. Matches in this round will be played in Single Round Robin format and two teams from each group will qualify for the Semi-Finals of WT20WC-2024. Placement of all the teams in four groups are below:

Venues of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024
Initially, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was set to be held in Bangladesh but the ICC decided to relocate the event to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the political instability in Bangladesh the hosting rights of the event will still be held by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
