Nepal Announces Squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2024

On May 1^st, 2024, Nepal announces squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Paudel has been named as Nepal’s captain. Rohit Paudel will captain the Nepal team for the first time in the T20 World Cup.

As expected, there are no more changes in the squad of the Nepal cricket team. Players, who performed well in the ACC Premier Cup in Oman and against the West Indies A team (tour at Kirtipur) are rewarded for their stunning form. Rohit Paudel, a man in form hit a century at home series in the 1^st match of 5 match series.

All-rounder, Dipendra Singh Airee who has a record of 6 sixes in an over against Qatar will be in the squad for T20 World Cup 2024. Alongside, Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh will also strengthen the batting order of Nepal.

Further, a young gun, Gulshan Jha also joined the T20 WC squad and was in the U19 WC squad as well. 19-year-old Pratis GC is also able to take place in the squad. Sompal Kami, the only senior player in the squad, debuted in 2014. The fast bowling responsibility will be on Karan KC and spin orthodox spinner Lalit Rajbanshi will also be in the squad.

Nepal is placed in Group D of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Netherlands. Nepal’s fixtures from the Group Stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 are as follows:

The T20 World Cup 2024 will be played from 1^st June 2024 to 29^th June 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. Nepal will look forward to their first T20I World Cup title in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Boards can make changes or alter their initially announced squad by May 25, 2024, without the permission of the ICC. After May 25, 2024, boards will require permission from ICC’s Technical Committee to make changes or alter their squad in case of injury or unforeseen event.
