All the 20 teams participating in the T20 World Cup 2024 are bound to submit their squad for T20 WC 2024 before or on the deadline i.e. May 1, 2024 to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
What is Submission Deadline of Squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2024?
The squad submission deadline of 1st May 2024 is provisional, cricket boards of all the 20 participating teams can make changes to their initial squad before May 25, 2024 without the permission or approval of the International Cricket Council (ICC). After May 25, 2024, the board will then need approval from the technical committee of the ICC in case of any injuries or unexpected situations.
Limit of Players in the Squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2024
Furthermore, the International Cricket Council (ICC) may allow only a 15-member primary squad for all the 20 teams whereas can carry additional players with them as traveling reserves whose expenses may also be met by the Cricket Board themselves. The players in the traveling reserve will not be allowed to participate in World Cup matches unless they make their place in the initial 15-member squad in case of any injury to a player who is initially placed in the 15-member squad. Approval from the technical committee of the ICC will required to replace a player within the squad in case of injury or any unwanted or unexpected situation after May 25, 2024.

As the squad submission deadline for T20 WC 2024 nears, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad on April 25, 2024 during their T20I series against New Zealand. The selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also expected to announce India’s T20 World Cup squad by the end of April or on 1st May 2024 during the ongoing edition of IPL.
